Apple Offers $100 Refund For iPad 1 Customers

Tech giant Apple has offered a $100 refund to customers who bought the iPad 1 within the two weeks before it was discounted.

The company launched an upgrade to the mass selling tablet device and dropped the retinal price for the first generation to $399 from $499.

The new iPad 2 retails for $499, the retail price of the old tablet. The iPad 2 debuts in US stores on Friday March 11.

The company said the refund only applies for iPads bought from its website or its own retail outlets.

The iPad 2 will be rolled out to the United Kingdom, France and other countries a fortnight from the US launch.
